Mr. Ellis builds and maintains software utilized by health care providers and public health agencies

LOUISVILLE, KY, January 30, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Timothy W. Ellis, Senior Systems Architect of Emergint Technologies, Inc., has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in information technology.
As a senior systems architect of Emergint Technologies, Inc., Mr. Ellis specializes in software and systems architecture. He is responsible for overseeing health surveillance information system products, including installing Emergint's HealthSIS product that hooks into the medical record system in the hospital and scans and identifies reportable disease conditions. He is also responsible for managing additional consulting projects and implementing software architecture. Mr. Ellis has been involved with independent health information exchange and electronic health records for the past 10 years, starting with Emergint from invitation to build a system to collect comparable health research data. Before joining Emergint Technologies, he served Kindred Healthcare as a senior programmer analyst. He was also a senior associate engineer for IBM. He is skilled in combining his domain knowledge and technical expertise to provide low-cost, high-impact disease surveillance solutions.
A diligent and skilled professional, Mr. Ellis attributes his success to strong attention to detail, dedication to excellence, his ability to grasp system concepts and requirements quickly, and his logical thinking skills. He became involved in his profession as the result of a natural evolution from undergraduate and graduate studies to be a software engineer.

Mr. Ellis earned a Master of Science in computer science with a focus on software engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1990, having received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computer science from Lambuth University, where he graduated with summa cum laude honors in 1988. He completed internships at Argonne National Laboratory in 1988, and at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in 1987. He is a member of Phi Beta Lambda. He has been named a Presidential Scholar by Lambuth University. In years to come, Mr. Ellis hopes to expand the HealthSIS installation base in Kentucky and to surrounding states.
