CSIdentity, TelecomCareers partner to improve background screening checks
Austin, Texas-based companies offer HR managers comprehensive solution

AUSTIN, TX, November 22, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reports state that more than 2 million identity thieves are hired every year by unsuspecting companies, and because of faulty background screenings, criminals have access to millions of dollars worth of confidential information. To help companies improve their background screening processes, TelecomCareers - a leading telecom, media and technology-focused career site - is partnering with CSIdentity, the technology leader in identity theft protection, to provide comprehensive background checks and compliance solutions for the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act).

The TelecomCareers / CSIdentity partnership is being introduced to TelecomCareers' clients in two phases. In Phase 1, which is now live, businesses can use CSIdentity SAFESM to run a comprehensive background check on their current employees or new applicants. CSIdentity SAFE is a Web-based pre-screening application that allows employers to quickly and easily verify and authenticate an applicants' true identity, determine if their names or dates of birth have been altered, and if they have criminal or sex offender backgrounds under alternate names or aliases. Additionally, CSIdentity SAFE offers ongoing monitoring of the identity as long as the person is employeed.

This process allows businesses to conduct thorough background searches based on more complete and verified data. Additional screenings available include drug testing, employment and education verification services, and department of motor vehicle records searches. Most components of this process provide results to the human resources or other designated manager within an hour.

Phase 1 also provides businesses with access to CSIdentity's Red Flag compliance solution. SAFE ID allows businesses to detect when identity thieves are attempting to conduct transactions by enabling companies to verify and authenticate customers' identities in real-time. It also provides advanced address verification capabilities that detect when fraudulent address changes are attempted with existing accounts. CSIdentity's Red Flag compliance solution is available as a stand-alone application or via integration with a business' existing account origination / management systems.

In conjunction with the Phase 1 launch, CSIdentity and Telecom Careers are kicking off a series of webinars through the Telecom Careers site to introduce CSIdentity SAFE and SAFE ID and provide additional information about CSIdentity's Red Flag compliance solution and the pitfalls of standard background screenings. Phase 2 of this partnership, which will launch in January, will allow job seekers in the TelecomCareers community to become CSIdentity SAFE Certified by running their personal information through CSIdentity's screening process to proactively show employers they are safe for hire.
